Nothing tastes as good as Quality!
What's with the Name?
“Tri” is a synonym for three and “Imbue” a synonym for infused. At Trimbue we embrace the three-clock peak mountain range of the Langeberg in Swellendam, as part of our logo, as well as the three infused olive oils we produce as part of our brand.
What Makes Us Special?
We use only the highest quality award-winning, estate extra virgin olive oil, produced by Mardouw Olive Estate, based in the Swellendam area in the Western Cape.

How Our Products are Made
Infusion Process
We use the hot and cold infusion method in producing our oil. The oil is heated on precisely controlled temperatures on induction plates, for a set period of time. The oil is then cold infused for a further set amount of time. The timing is carefully monitored to ensure product quality and consistency.
FILTERING Process
Once the infusion of the oil is done, it is triple filtered to ensure a pure and clear product.
Zero Waste Sustainability
The chilli, rosemary and garlic used for the infusion of our oils, together with other spices and ingredients are combined to produce our awesome Trimbue Wet Rub. Zero wastage! The rub is perfect for marinating any protein with scrumptious results! It adds fantastic flavour to meat, poultry, fish, stew, any vegetables and even soup!
Bottling & Labelling
The finished product is bottled and labelled with our unique label design. The label is high quality vinyl, which can be wiped clean of any oil spillage. This enables you to re-use the bottle for refill. We even have an “order more line” on our bottles for re-ordering before you run out of stock, although we are sure you will always have a few extra bottles on hand!
Why dried herbs?
Water influences the quality of olive oil. So even though a raw chilli or rosemary leaf in a bottle of oil looks very pretty, it shortens the shelf life and lowers the standard of the oil. Trimbue uses only dried ingredients in our infusions to ensure top quality and longer shelf life.
Why extra virgin olive oil?
Extra Virgin Olive oil of the international award winning Mardouw Olive Estate is used for its superior quality, but also for the immense health benefits Olive Oil presents over any other oil type.
More and more scientific evidence is mounting to support the very important role that natural antioxidant in Extra Virgin Olive Oil play in protecting the body against various cancers – especially colon and breast carcinoma. These antioxidants neutralise the free radicals in the body. Free radicals are formed by normal metabolism as well as by many of the pollutants that we are unavoidably exposed to.
And to top it all off, chilli, rosemary and garlic are packed with nutrients our bodies need to function.
When is an olive oil extra virgin?
According to the SA Olive Commitment to Compliance (CTC) Scheme, both virgin and extra virgin olive oils are extracted by using only mechanical methods (no heat or solvents are allowed). After the oil is extracted, it is graded.
In order for an olive oil to be graded as EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, it must meet the following requirements:
We use only the highest quality Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oils produced by Mardouw Olive Estate, based in the Swellendam area in Cape Town.
